I am a self-taught artist. I was born in Greensboro, NC, and I have enjoyed artistic expression since I was a small child. Throughout years I developed a love and appreciation for art through my own self-expression and the enjoyment of studying other artists' work. When I began painting as a young adult I started decorating any available surface with acrylics. Furniture, dishes and even refrigerator magnets were not safe from my brush. I developed my love of watercolor later. Watercolor paintings inspired me because of the beautiful way the colors mixed on the paper. I started studying watercolor through books I checked out from the library. Once I tried it myself, I learned that it was definitely the medium for me. I still think that watercolor pigments, once mixed with water, have an almost magical quality in the way that they mix and swirl on the paper and create a unique work of art every time that cannot be duplicated.

Today I paint primarily with watercolors, although I still enjoy a variety of other craft projects and decorative painting with acrylics. I live on High Rock Lake in North Carolina with my husband, son, dog, and 2 cats. I have many hobbies, including photography, sailing, scrapbooking, and spending time in the beautiful outdoors.
